My decision to attend chiropractic college received mixed reactions from friends and family.

However, I had always been intrigued by the body’s ability to heal itself and wanted to learn more about providing health care in ways that compliment the body’s natural recuperative ability. Introducing those who initially questioned my career choice to the benefits of chiropractic care has been a very rewarding experience

After graduating from Grand Island Senior High, I attended Kearney State College. Initially, I enrolled in their pre-pharmacy program. However, exposure to science classes that focused on the function of the human body influenced my decision to pursue a career in chiropractic. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology, I earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri in 1978. I later completed three years of post-graduate training in orthopedics from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, Minnesota. I have been in practice almost 30 years and still enjoy going to the office every day.read more»

I see my role as a specialist in nerve, bone and joint problems. What sets me apart from many in the chiropractic profession is that I see myself as part of your overall health care team. I have developed a positive rapport with my medical colleagues during my 30 years of practice. This greatly enhances a patient’s health care experience and provides them with the best opportunity to achieve optimal results.

I specialize in disc-related disorders and have many hours of post-graduate training in the treatment of spinal disc injuries. Surgical intervention for spinal conditions, although sometimes indicated, carries considerable risks and often results in a relatively poor outcome. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is being able to help patients avoid back surgery and regain health naturally. I am also certified in Active Release Technique.

I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Cheryl, for over 30 years. We have three grown children, Ben, Brian, and Andrea, along with a daughter-in-law, Erin, and a son-in-law, Casey. My wife and I are active in our local church. We enjoy opening our home to family and friends, traveling and playing golf. In my spare time, I also enjoy working in the yard and making homemade ice cream.

I try to exercise 2-3 times a week and stay active by lifing weights, jogging and playing golf. One of the major benefits of having my son join the practice is the ability to be “adjusted” on a regular basis. The maintenance care that I receive increases my flexibility and productiviity. Ask about our current arrangement with a local fitness club. You’ll be able to get in shape and save money at the same time.

As a young athlete who participated in many different sports, I became acquainted with the field of sports medicine and the role health care professionals play in keeping the body healthy. The help I received inspired me to choose a career in chiropractic so that I could offer similar help to others.

My dad’s concern and compassion for his patients also influenced my decision to pursue a career in health care. Watching the satisfaction and enjoyment he received from helping others improve their quality of life was a key factor in my decision. I look forward to introducing a new generation of Nebraskans to the benefit of chiropractic care.

I was born and raised in Grand Island, Nebraska. I attended the University of Nebraska-Kearney, graduating in 2004 with a degree in biology and minor in chemistry. In November of 2007, I earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, Minnesota. As part of my training, I completed a three month preceptorship at a multi-doctor clinic in Lincoln, NE. After passing my National Boards and becoming licensed in the state of Nebraska, I joined the staff at Grand Island Chiropractic Center.read more»

I take the time to truly listen to my patients in order to customize a treatment plan designed to meet their specific needs and lifestyle. Through patient education, I encourage patients to take an active role in their recovery, in order to speed the healing process and lessen the chance of re-injury.

In addition to treating back and neck problems, I treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions, such as injuries to the ankle, knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. Our office utilizes Cold Beam Laser Therapy, which has proven to be very effective in dealing with many of these injuries, as well as, electrical muscle stimulation and ultrasound. I also enjoy educating patients on the benefits of proper nutrition.

I met my wife, Erin, who is a photographer, at the University Nebraska-Kearney. We were married in September of 2007. We both enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors and getting together with friends and family. We are excited to be in Grand Island and look forward to getting involved in the community.

While my wife is a long distance runner, I enjoy playing basketball, softball, golf, tennis, and soccer. I am passionate about sports, whether participating first hand or watching from the sidelines, and enjoy helping patients recover form sports injuries.

Regular exercise and participation is sports has become a way of life for me. Whether lifting weights or running on the hike and bike trail with my wife, I enjoy staying active. Regular chiropractic care helps me minimize injuries that can have a negative effect on range of motion, strength, reflexes, endurance, and ultimately, performance.
