However, I had always been intrigued by the body’s ability to heal itself and wanted to learn more about providing health care in ways that compliment the body’s natural recuperative ability. Introducing those who initially questioned my career choice to the benefits of chiropractic care has been a very rewarding experience

A Chiropractic Education

After graduating from Grand Island Senior High, I attended Kearney State College. Initially, I enrolled in their pre-pharmacy program. However, exposure to science classes that focused on the function of the human body influenced my decision to pursue a career in chiropractic. After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology, I earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri in 1978. I later completed three years of post-graduate training in orthopedics from Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, Minnesota. I have been in practice almost 30 years and still enjoy going to the office every day.

I see my role as a specialist in nerve, bone and joint problems. What sets me apart from many in the chiropractic profession is that I see myself as part of your overall health care team. I have developed a positive rapport with my medical colleagues during my 30 years of practice. This greatly enhances a patient’s health care experience and provides them with the best opportunity to achieve optimal results.I specialize in disc-related disorders and have many hours of post-graduate training in the treatment of spinal disc injuries. Surgical intervention for spinal conditions, although sometimes indicated, carries considerable risks and often results in a relatively poor outcome. One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is being able to help patients avoid back surgery and regain health naturally. I am also certified in Active Release Technique.

On a Personal Note…

I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Cheryl, for over 30 years. We have three grown children, Ben, Brian, and Andrea, along with a daughter-in-law, Erin, and a son-in-law, Casey. My wife and I are active in our local church. We enjoy opening our home to family and friends, traveling and playing golf. In my spare time, I also enjoy working in the yard and making homemade ice cream.

I try to exercise 2-3 times a week and stay active by lifing weights, jogging and playing golf. One of the major benefits of having my son join the practice is the ability to be “adjusted” on a regular basis. The maintenance care that I receive increases my flexibility and productiviity. Ask about our current arrangement with a local fitness club. You’ll be able to get in shape and save money at the same time.
